Boater Safety

At Vermilion River Adventures, every trip begins with safety. Our kayaks and canoes are regularly inspected and maintained. All boaters are required to complete safety training before departure. We reserve the right to refuse rental services to anyone behaving unsafely or refusing the mandatory training.

PFD Requirements (Illinois Law)

• Age 13 and up: Must have a wearable USCG-approved Type I, II, or III personal flotation device readily accessible at all times. We strongly encourage wearing it at all times.
• Under age 13: Must wear a PFD at all times, no exceptions.

All vessels are equipped with proper safety equipment including whistles, air horns, and first aid kits.

Alcohol and boating don't mix. Alcohol consumption is not allowed on any Vermilion River Adventures vessel. Operating any watercraft while intoxicated is dangerous and illegal.
